Fire Detection Installers Accociation

The purpose of the FDIA is to uplift the quality and professionalism within the industry through training and by informing its members, consulting engineers and specifiers of changes and technologies within and affecting the industry, using this website and email newsletters thereby providing an overall service to the South African community.
FDIA is administered by a committee elected by its members from within the relevant fire detection and gaseous extinguishing industries.

It is to these standards to which they agree to base all their system design, installation and maintenance, thereby assisting to uphold the industry standards.

The South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) supports governments Industrial Policy Action Plan (IPAP), which promotes the localisation and addresses the current economic trends. The SABS provides the platform for quality services and products which is the key differentiator in an increasingly competitive environment. Fire Protection Association of Southern Africa

The Fire Protection Association of Southern Africa (FPASA) was established in 1973 to provide a specialized fire safety management technical and training service to industry, commerce and society at large. Over the years the Association has developed a range of membership options and technical, training and fire safety management services that are recognized for their quality, professionalism and value.



South African Intruder Detection Services Association

An association of security system service providers, including service providers of basic alarms, refined electronic intruder detection systems, and CCTV, amongst others. SAIDSA also incorporates signal monitoring as well as the provision of armed reaction services. Companies have to also abide by stringent SAIDSA bylaws in order to receive SAIDSA accreditation, only compliant and reputable security companies receive this certification. Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority

The key objective of PSIRA is to regulate the private security industry and to exercise effective control over the engagement of security service providers with the public, both in the national public’s interest and the interest of the private security industry itself.
